“Welcome to Colombo Institute of graduate studies. Colombo Institute of Graduate studies is an institution formed with the unique aim of providing the ‘Sri Lankan’ students with the opportunity to access quality, international tertiary education with ease.

Established in collaboration with ‘Rivil International’, an educational consultancy organization specialized in finding overseas education opportunities to Sri Lankan students, CIGS has the ability to train the students at the same international quality standards as required by these institutions.

Equipped with the modern classroom and lab facilities and a professional panel of lecturers, highly respected in their areas of expertise; CIGS aims to maintain the best educational practices throughout the length of the courses that they offer.

Unlike many Institutions offering higher education, CIGS has been very careful in selecting the programs that they offer. At CIGS, we have taken great care to select only education programs with proper accreditation in the respective countries and recognition of the world for placement in further educational levels and for job opportunities.

At CIGS we also believe in nurturing students at skill levels accepted internationally, so much so we place a lot of emphasis on developing the soft skills of our students as much as developing their technical expertise. Almost every program that is offered at CIGS is selected to have proper practical orientation, so that we do make sure the students are job ready when they complete our courses.

ORGANIZATION

Colombo Institute of Graduate Studies Private Limited here in after called as CIGS was established with the prime intention of providing quality education at an affordable price for Sri Lankan students. CIGS will be providing further education opportunities for O/L and A/L completed students locally. CIGS will form a platform for students to complete and obtain an internationally recognized Degree qualification from various foreign Universities based in UK, New Zealand, Australia, Singapore and India whilst studying in Sri Lanka.

ABOUT OUR C.E.O

An experienced campaigner with more than 20 years of experience in education industry, as a lecturer and manager.

He held the position of ‘Managing Director’, for ‘Singapore Informatics- Sri Lanka’, which is a fully owned subsidiary of ‘Informatics Education Ltd.’ Singapore. Before he became the MD of SICI , he has held various senior managerial positions in educational management, both in Sri Lanka and Singapore.

He is a competent lecturer in Computer Science, and was a‘Partner Associate Lecturer’ for ‘University of Portsmouth, UK’.

Mahen holds a BSc. From University of Moratuwa, and an MSc.(Computer Science) from University of Colombo.

MISSION

At CIGS our mission is to provide high quality education for students within a nurturing environment that empowers graduates to reach their educational intellectual and emotional growth enabling them to contribute to their communities in meaningful positive ways and to become responsible citizens.

VISION

To become the market leader in providing foreign education qualifications in Sri Lanka and to target 5000 students in the year 2021 whilst offering a nurturing environment in a fully-fledged campus infrastructure and to obtain private university status in Sri Lanka.

OUR SERVICES

At CIGS we will be providing education and all the facilities for O/L and A/L completed students to seek Diploma, Undergraduate and Postgraduate qualifications in Sri Lanka. We will be providing a choice of education qualifications for the students to choose from Business Management, Information Technology, Hospitality Management, Travel and Tourism, Social Sciences and English Language. Students will be studying in Sri Lanka towards a Diploma, Degree [UG and PG] qualifications which will be awarded by a Foreign University, Government Institute of Technology or a Polytechnic overseas. Also we will be conducting training programmes for professional qualifications [ACCA, CIMA, CIM, AAT, CMA, CCNA MCIT, CITY and GUILDS, EDEXCEL, IELTS, TESOL PEARSON] that will create pathways for students to achieve their Degrees at an affordable price.

Facilities

LECTURE ROOM FACILITIES

Our class rooms are well equipped and facilitated with all modern teaching aids. Students are provided with a disturbance free comfy learning area to gain knowledge without any disturbances. Our fully air conditioned classrooms are equipped with multimedia projectors and whiteboards which gives a contemporary learning experience promoting e learning. Seating for students are placed strategically helping to maximize the learning potential. All classrooms are WIFI enabled and provides seating space for more than 50 students.

LABORATORY FACILITIES

We recognize the importance of providing our students with a comfortable IT environment that they expect to meet in the industry and our students are benefited with best IT platforms including industry standard software, hardware and equipments. The IT teaching experience is up to date with fully upgraded PCs and Network server workstations.
